The 2020 Ford Escape has the right features and looks to take you confidently down the road to what’s next. Escape offers available Panoramic Vista Roof®, a new sliding function for the second-row rear seats and plenty of space for your luggage. Ford Co-Pilot360™ comes with a suit of standard driver-assist technologies to help you stay in control, while available SYNC®3 keeps you connected. The new 2020 Escape has a choice of a Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid* and EcoBoost engines with Auto Start-Stop technology, including a 1.5L EcoBoost® Engine and the 2.0L EcoBoost® Engine. The Plug-In Hybrid Escape features a 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-cycle hybrid engine, and a 14.4 kWh battery.

Redesigned Exterior and Interior

The Ford Escape has a distinctive new look for 2020. Redesigned with sportier lines that give it a premium feel, the attention-grabbing new Escape will change the way you look at every other SUV. Its interior has also been redesigned with all the features and conveniences to help make travelling and exploring more comfortable. A new rotary gear shift dial opens space on the centre console and helps improve overall front-row comfort. And with the second-row 60/40 split-fold seats with an all-new sliding feature, you can have best-in-class second-row leg room* or slide forward to maximize rear cargo space.


Available Panoramic Vista Roof®

The available Panoramic Vista Roof® features a large forward panel that tilts up or opens fully, plus a fixed rear skylight. So whether you’re sitting up front or in back, the Panoramic Vista Roof lets in the natural light.


60/40 Split-Fold-Flat Rear Seat Backs With New Sliding Function

Fold both rear seat backs for a flat load surface that offers up to 65.4 cu. ft. (1,852 litres) of total cargo space.  Or fold down either of the standard 60/40 split rear seat backs and still save room for a passenger. The second-row rear seats also feature a new sliding function, allowing for greater ease of use when loading up cargo. If you’re carrying items such as luggage, leave both seat backs up and you’ll have 34 cu. ft. (962 litres) of cargo space or best-in-class second-row leg room.*

  • Windshield wiper de-icer (Heated wiper park) (Standard on S and above for Gas model and Hybrid, SE and above for PHEV)

Available Hands-Free, Foot-Activated Liftgate

Thanks to the available hands-free, foot-activated liftgate, there’s no need to fumble for keys. Its hands-free operation is especially helpful when your arms are full of items like grocery bags. With the available Intelligent Access key in your pocket or purse, kick your foot under the bumper and the liftgate opens. You can also adjust the liftgate height, which is helpful for lower overhangs. Standard on the Ford Escape SEL and Titanium models.

Available Head-Up Display

Keep your eyes on the road. The available head-up display creates an image on a display screen in front of you as you look through the windshield. This minimizes the distraction of having to look down at the car’s instrument panel. The head-up display keeps you informed with various driver-assist features that include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane-Keeping System, navigation, and more.**

1.5L EcoBoost® Engine

The standard 1.5L EcoBoost® engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology is coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Auto Start-Stop Technology can help lower fuel consumption and vehicle emissions during city driving. When your vehicle comes to a stop, the engine shuts off and then seamlessly restarts when you step on the accelerator or when your foot leaves the brake pedal.


Available 2.0L EcoBoost® Engine With Auto Start-Stop Technology

The available 2.0L EcoBoost® engine comes with Auto Start-Stop Technology and SelectShift®. The 8-speed SelectShift transmission offers the convenience of an automatic or the sporty feel of a manual. What’s more, with the Class II Trailer Tow Package (standard with the 2.0L EcoBoost® engine), this engine can support a maximum towing capacity of 1,587 kg (3,498 lbs.).


Hybrid 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-Cycle I-4 Engine

The 2.5L I-4 Atkinson-cycle powertrain features an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT) and an 88 kW electric motor. Standard on all Escape Hybrid and Escape Plug-In Hybrid models.
